James E. Schaefer

Jim is committed to his clients and provides confident and exemplary legal advice. Jim is dedicate to community service and has served as the business, professional, and charitable communities as a board member and officer for organizations including Harbor Behavioral Healthcare, Leadership Toledo, Toledo Hearing and Speech Center, and the Toledo Chamber of Commerce. Jim has also served as a CYO basketball coach for many years and was honored in 2007 with its Veteran Coach Award.

With ten years of experience as a CPA at an international accounting firm in addition to his legal education and experience, Jim has a broad knowledge of the various business, tax, and legal issues facing businesses of all sizes and their owners, covering all areas of the firm’s practice.

Jim Schaefer received his Juris Doctor from the University of Toledo College of Law in 1982 and received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from John Carroll University in 1979. He is admitted to practice law in Ohio and before the United States Tax Court and is a member of the Toledo and Ohio State Bar Associations, the Ohio Society and American Institute of CPAs, as well as the Toledo Estate Planning Council.
